Formulas
Discount Amount = Original Price × (Discount % ÷ 100)
Final Price = Original Price − Discount Amount
You can also calculate final price directly:
Final Price = Original Price × (1 − Discount % ÷ 100)
Example
Original price = $80, Discount = 25%
Discount amount = 80 × 0.25 = $20
Final price = 80 − 20 = $60
Tips
- Check whether tax is included before or after the discount.
- Some stores apply additional coupons after the main discount.
